Sounds like something my girls would love! I've gotten a lot of back issues of AG magazine from EBay, and the girls love reading them. It does sound like they're going back to their original magazine.

As I said in my original post, I do think it is geared more toward the younger crowd, some of the games were pretty simple, etc. BUT- that said, my girls LOVED looking at it. Maybe it wouldn't keep their interest long-term, but they were very excited when it came in the mail, looked at it right away, and then went off to play with their AG dolls. I think the mag is probably geared like you said for the 6-8 year olds, maybe for those girls ready to move up to AG from HSH or Bitty. My kids liked the picture of the Kirsten with the bad hair best, but wanted more information on what they did to her. (I'm guessing replaced the head, but they wouldn't want to show that in a mag for little girls!)
The only thing I was really disappointed in was that it was only 24 pages long. It would have to be VERY cheap for me to pay for a magazine with only 24 pages.

My teenage sister got this yesterday as well. She is "beyond" AG and has given me all of her AG stuff, including her dolls. However, she wouldn't give me the free subscription card and wants to get the free mag herself. Hrumph! I order AG stuff all the time and she rarely does (gifts for me!), but she's on the "panel" or whatever it is that sends surveys and so we hypothesized that is why she got the free mag. I'm still crossing my fingers that I'll get it too--maybe with my second Marisol who is on the way! It wasn't overly impressive, but I still thought it was fun to look at, plus I love free things (particularly free AG things!)

(edited because Hostboard edited one of my words thinking it was a baddie and it made my sentence look dumb!)

I have no idea why I received the magazine. I'm not a panel member, I don't belong to the AG club, and I don't even have a daughter.
If anyone would want to send me their mag if they don't like it, or even just the subscription card, we would probably be interested.
My dd just turned 7 and I think that the AG mag is too "mature" for her, but this sounds fun.
You can PM me. . . .
What AG needs to do is have a magazine for older girls and adults who still like the AGs. It could include crafts and history.

24 pages?! How odd! Perhaps that was just for the intro? They didn't want to spend too much money on a test magazine...*hopes* I'm hoping I'll get the trial issue. Even if I don't, it's quite possible I'll subscribe.
From the sound of it, it sounds like a "dumbed-down" magazine form of the old newspapers that came with the old Club.
